Joe Anderl releases new digital album
Joe Anderl’s new ep has been mating happily with my I-Pod since Thursday.
That is the day that Anderl posted his new 6-song ep for free download at www.fictionband.com.
The ep, which is aptly titled the Fictionband Sessions, will only be available online for digital download.
(Which, by the way, I think the digital-only release is a great idea. Because, lets face it, if an album is not engraved on your I-Tunes you never listen to it anyway.)
The Fictionband Sessions is somewhat stripped down from his 2007 full-length release, I Love Joe Anderl.
It features minimal instrumentation and scaled-back production, but I am starting to think that the Dayton-based singer/songwriter is incapable of writing a bad song.
He continues to grow as a writer and a singer. Each song is more personal, haunting, and perfectly crafted than the last.
Important tracks include the lead-off track and ode to second chances, ‘Classic American’. Also the up-beat ‘Tunnel of Love’, which Anderl says “slides right down”.
In short, download Fictionband Sessions at www.fictionband.com and thank me later.
Joe Anderl will be at the Dayton Dirt Collective on East 3rd st. next Wednesday, September 17th, with Gunshy. That show is all-ages.
He will also be performing at this year’s Dayton Music Fest where he will be having Shrug and members of the Kyle Sowashes serving as his backing band.
