Dayton Library to host teen ‘Battle of the Bands’
The Dayton Metro Library is looking for the best teen musicians in town to compete in the first ever Music Slam 2008.
Music Slam 2008 will be a teen music competition held May 24th at River Scape downtown as part of River Blast.
The library is currently accepting applications for the teen battle of the bands. A panel of judges will choose the top four bands from the entries to compete at the summer concert. All entries must be received by April 5th. To enter go to www.DaytonLibrary.org and click on the Music Slam 2008 banner.
Grand prize is ten hours of free studio time at Cyberteknics Creative Recording Studio. Also, all four finalists will receive gift certificates to McCutcheon Music and an exclusive interview and video produced by Dayton Access Television.
Not a bad idea. Kudos, Dayton Metro Library.

How un-original. Who can guess where ideas like these come from? But then again, imitation is flattering…
