Metal Fest at McGuffy’s on Saturday

Contrary to popular belief, Metal lives in Dayton.

This Saturday, November 17th, four area hard rock/metal acts will take the stage at McGuffy’s for their more than annual Metal-Fest.

In the headlining spot is Negative Process a serious metal act who’s songs focus on taking down the government and corruption in the church. The band, who has taken the stage with major label hard rock acts such as Chimaira, Fear Factory, All That Remains, and Six Feet Under, is independently becoming well-known by the thrash and burn metal-heads of the midwest as one of the hardest working bands in the biz.

Also on the bill is fellow Dayton metal powerhouse Silk Abrasion. The guys in Silk Abrasion have a very recognizable past for many area metal fans. Their resume includes Tsybil, 4-Stack, and Dispute. The band recently released a new LP entitled The Broken Heart, The Brand New Skies on Hipgnosis records.

Opening the night is another band with a extremely long list of past notable Dayton projects. The newly formed Forever Burn is made up of ex-44 and ex-Shazbot members who have come together to create a brutal combination.

Also playing is the double-fisted devil-horned old school metal of Hamilton-based Death Broker. Death Broker is only two-years old yet their high-energy metal has landed them sponsorships from Mountain Dew.

Find all the bands on myspace.com to hear loud samples of each band performing at Trans Fusion Entertainment’s Metal Fest at McGuffy’s. Show starts at 9 pm.
