The Audible Influence wins the crown
Like a beauty queen or a Superbowl champion the Audible Influence have bragging rights in Dayton until next September.
They have now been officially crowned 2007 Dayton Band Playoffs champion.
They defeated the Umbrella Men in front of a packed house at Canal Street Tavern on Friday night with an amazing 206 votes.
Both bands fought hard, but this year was the Audible Influence’s year. They had been in first place since round one and became the top seed in the competition in round two.
When they defeated the Sandals in the semi’s they instantly became the heavy favorite in the finals.
The six young musicians that make up the Audible Influence are full of energy on stage and have a sound that is familiar and radio ready.
I believe their youthful energy and passion for the music they play is why the Audible Influence gained the support of local music fans and walked away the winners.
The only question now is what is next? Many playoff champs before them have used their victory as a catapult to bigger and better careers (Orange Willard, Mona, ect.).
So let me ask this: are the Audible Influence ready for the next step? Click the comments and let me know what you think.

I am sick of people crying about the best band not winning. if the umbrella men and the sailing lost because they didn’t bring their fans who’s fault is that.the band who brings in the most wins. when you have different genres how can you judge. the system works, the right band won. get over it! and T.A.I. played more of their own music than anything elseBy Joe Gauder

Please, never does this competition have a real winner, the past two years the real talent, Umbrella Men and The Sailing only lose because they don’t bring everyone to the show. Popularity contest are a joke. Guided by Voices for example! The competition needs to change, fans should have one vote and there needs to be judges, I’m sick of listening to cover bands win this playoff without talent.By Andy
