The Audible Influence are in the finals

Congrats to the Audible Influence who made it past the Sandals in Wednesday’s semi-final to make the 2007 Canal Street Tavern Dayton Band Playoff finals.

I had a chance to chat with TAI drummer Alex Speller about the win and here is what he said.

KN - How does it feel to make the final?

AS - It feels great to move on to the finals. I’m just thankful that we have such devoted fans, if it wasn’t for our fans we wouldn’t have made it through the first round let alone to the finals. Thank you guys.

KN - Any parting words for the Sandals?

AS - The Sandals were some tough competition, and very good at what they do. There for awhile we had a little flame war going back and forth between our fans on your message board, so we didn’t know what to expect when we met The Sandals, but they were very friendly.

KN - As it continues what have you gained, besides the finals, by playing the DBP?

AS - The DBP have been a really good learning experience for us as a band and I just hope that we can continue to grow musically and that our fans stick around for whats to come. As you know this was our first attempt at the DBP so none of us really expected any of this.

The Audible Influence await the winner of the second semi-final between the Umbrella Men and Brother Been. The second semi-final is Wednesday, September 5th, at Canal Street Tavern.

The finals is set for Friday, September 14th, also at Canal Street. Mark your calendar.

Congratulations to TAI in all that they have accomplished thus far. There’s little doubt in my mind of what the outcome on the 14th will be; I am very much anticipating the climax to this year’s DBP. One word to the band - don’t settle for the city, take on the nation once this is over.

Amelia's Bistro, Bellbrook, restaurant review [review]

Call it comfort food, gourmet style. From crab raviolis with vanilla lobster sauce, to a hand-cut and brined pork chop served with a fig jam, to a simply "Big-Ass Cake" that's a chocolate lover's dream, Amelia's has the potential to become a destination restaurant — worth the drive to Bellbrook.
