Enon to play Dayton Music Festival
Through a post at www.DaytonMusicFest.com it was announced that electro-pop band Enon will again perform at this year’s Dayton Music Fest on October 6th.
The internet posting reads that the organizers of the DMF are “proud to say that Enon will again be apart of the Dayton Music Fest.”
Enon, just like in 2006, will carry the burden as headliners for the DMF 2007.
John Schmersal, Enon front-man, has a strong bond to Dayton from his days as part of the Dayton-based band Brainiac, and thus makes Enon a perfect fit for the fest.
Enon’s forthcoming record, entitled Grass Geysers Carbon Clouds, is due to hit stores on October 9th. As an added bonus, fans who attend the DMF will be able to get a copy of the new Touch & Go Records release from Enon at the Fest before anyone else.
The complete line-up for this year’s Dayton Music Fest has yet to be unveiled. But, organizers assured me that they will announce the full details in the coming weeks.

John should have quit while he was ahead. Enon doesn’t really carry the weight of Braniac’s sonic reputation, but seems to ride on the coattails of Braniac’s 10 minutes of fame. Matt is a good drummer. I remember him from Cigarhead. He’s wasting his talent in this band. Just my opinion. I just thank god that the headliner isn’t Shrug. Shrug should change their name to Yawn.
