Bluesman Reece Lincoln back from tour

Most 8-year old kids are learning to write cursive letters and how to multiply, but when bluesman Reece Lincoln was in second grade he was teaching himself to play guitar.

Now only 17-years old, Reece has perfected his craft of blues and rock-a-billy guitar.

“Making music is central to my life. I eat, sleep, and dream music every day.” said Reece.

With help from his band, the Renegades which includes Jim Browning on bass and Sam Reck on drums, Reece is an accomplished touring musician and a regular on the festival circuit.

Reece spent February touring the heart of blues country in Florida, Alabama, and Georgia performing with Michael Locke and the Repeat Offenders. The tour, which included stops at blues festivals, clubs, and radio stations, was a huge success and is sure to be first of many tours for the young guitarist/singer.

With influences deeply rooted in Elvis Presley and Ray Charles, Reece and the Renegades are putting a modern spin on blues and rock-a-billy through a mostly original set.

“To best describe the songs I write is to say it’s high octane gospel that is fuel for the soul,” said Reece.

The band is currently working on a follow-up disc to their debut demo. Hear a sample of their music at myspace.com/reecelincoln

Catch Reece every other Thursday, including this Thursday, May 10th, at the corner Tavern in downtown West Milton, Ohio.

Also, Reece’s tunes will add the sound track to the Cruise’n with E-rider tv show appearing on local access channel 23 on May 12th.

The band is set to perform the upcoming Strawberry Festival in Troy as well.
