Reverend Dave’s Thursday night party at Trolley Stop

It’s where everyone knows your name; Not Cheers, the Trolley Stop on Thursday nights for Reverend Dave’s Acoustic Revival.

This five year old not so normal acoustic night has become an every Thursday social event attracting all types of music fans, bar babes, and artists.

“It is just a big party and everybody’s welcome as long as they are respectful of the event and the performers,” said the founder and host of the Acoustic Revival, Reverend Dave.

Music starts at 9 p.m. and anyone can sign up and play. Unlike most open mic nights, there is no audition necessary and no one will cut in line. Dave makes sure the list goes as it goes.

“The Revival is a non-exclusive no b.s. event. There are rules, but all performers are welcome no matter what,” Dave explained.

Between the artist introductions and his own set playing upbeat covers and originals, Dave spends most of his time meeting people and snapping pictures for his website dedicated to the event. The site, www.revdavelive.com, is filled with party pictures and funny commentary about the Revival, the Trolley Stop crowd, and the performers.

“I started the website in order to have a place to write and showcase the event. Check it out, all the girls are beautiful and all the guys are studs,” Dave said.

The Revival has seen it all over the years; five wedding proposals, an untamed ventriloquist (ask Dave), and a slew of musicians, singers, and songwriters of every type.

The combination of good music, good looking guys and gals, and dollar draft beers at the bar is quickly making Reverend Dave’s Acoustic Revival the most popular Thursday night attraction in the Oregon District.
