February is for the studio
February 2007 will be known as the official month for bands to do time in the studio. Many area bands are planning to record during the first part of February.
Snake Oil, Second Echo, Wild and Free, Viv Savage and the Big Finish, and Northwest Ordinance are just a few of the bands that are laying down tracks in February.
With so many bands caught up in the studio, February could be a slow month for shows.
However, it also means that Spring will be filled with new music and cd releases from many of your favorite local bands.
Here are some shows to see this weekend.
Friday, February 2nd: Murmur and Pretty Punchers at Oregon Express; Doug Hart Band at J. Alans; Romeo Champaign and the Howling Coyotes at Canal Street Tavern; Raised by Possums at Trolley Stop.
Saturday, February 3rd:Willy Porter and Stephanie Schick at Canal Street Tavern; The Bull and the Bear and Sleepybird at Oregon Express; B.B. Redd at Tumbleweed Connection; Towhee at Southgate House.
