The first weekend of 2007

The deadline for New Years recovery has past and for many of us who are back at work and already engulfed in the post-holiday blah are desperately hoping for the weekend. Here are a few shows to check out and unwind with this weekend.

Friday, January 5th - Freekbass at Peach’s Grill; Smoky Basement Project at Oregon Express; Ohio Corndaddies at The Trolley Stop; Second Echo at The Avenue.

Saturday, January 6th - Murmur at Oregon Express; City Knights at the Trolley Stop; Drybranch Firesquad at Canal Street Tavern; Sleepybird’ third birthday party at Peach’s Grill; Brandon Road and Ruetschle at The Brewery

Comedian/actor Eddie Griffin coming to the Funny Bone [comedy]

Eddie Griffin

Whether he's doing stand-up comedy, starring in his new reality program or appearing in feature films, funnyman Eddie Griffin leaves an indelible impression. The Kansas City native performs at the Funny Bone Comedy Club Friday and Saturday, Jan. 9 and 10. Griffin is known for movie roles in films including "Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo," "Norbit" and "Scary Movie 3" as well as the UPN television series "Malcolm & Eddie." He also has appeared on commercials for Miller Beer's Man Laws. More »
