I voted Hot Head Burrito’s but not all locations are created equal. The Brown street location is awesome. The Englewood location not so much. Although I am much closer to the Englewood location, I go way out my way, for better service, nicer workers, and better prepared burrito’s at the Brown Street location.

Hot Head is without a doubt the best taste, best value and best quality of all on this list. Even on a low-fat diet, I can have a phenomenal salad with amazing taste. Great ownership and locally owned & operated—just the best!

If you voted for Taco Bell, Chipotle or Hot Head you are brain dead and should never be allowed to dine with civilized human beings. Fast food is nearly always nasty and these 3 are all the same and all horrible. Go get some actual food cooked by people.

Clearly DaytonHawk hasn’t visited anything other than Taco Bell. HotHead (and Chipotle, although I prefer the former) has fresh ingredients, prepared by hand before your eyes. Excellent quality, particularly for the price!

Sorry, but I don’t work there. Just using the forum to express my opinion! (btw, HotHead is the reigning champ, and there aren’t enough employees out there to pull that off!)

Hot Heads is the poor man’s Chipotle, yet their prices are just as high, you just have to have a coupon to get a “deal.” I agree with the other people…fast food doesn’t even count! Elsa’s all the way!!

Are you kidding?? My husband and I get 2 burritos, chips and salsa and 1 drink at Chipotle and spend $20. Hot Head…same things…under $15…. but usually around $12 with the coupons and deals that they give. HH has more of a variety of flavors to choose from…locally owned…should I go on? I don’t work there, either. I work at Lowes (hey you can come see me if you don’t believe me!) HH is the best!

Definitely Hot Head Burrito. I love Chipolte too but Hot Head has more variety, is more economical and the employees are super nice. The only location I’ve been to is the Beavercreek store but it receives a 10 in all areas.

Hot head and Chipotle are good for something fast and moderate pricing. Taco Bell can be good for the extremely fast and cheap dinner. But if I want really good mexican food I love El Toro and Elsas! It all depends on what your in the mood for!

Okay I like hot head but the quality is bad (Englewood). The pork is dripping in who knows what, the tortillas are chewy, and the chips are plain. The other day some chick making my burrito ripped my tortilla and then just wrapped it up like I didn’t notice. QDOBA BY FAR HAS THE BEST QUALITY FOOD OF ANY OF THE HH/CHIPOTLE STYLE. TRY IT AND YOU’LL AGREE. LIME CHIPS ARE THE SHIZ!!!!!

What I LOVE about Hot Head is the unique approach—the variety of sauces, the fresh ingredients, and the hometown pride. I love supporting a business that got its start right here and is growing exponentially because of the local support. As far as comparing the products, the types of burritos featured here are vastly different—what is served at Elsa’s and La Fiesta is a much more “traditional” Mexican burrito than the ones at Hot Head and Chipotle.

FLAVORS EATERY has the best!! Fresh ingredients, affordable prices, Healthy options, HUGE portions, not to mention the House White Sauce YUM!!!!! The best part is they are not a chain… they are unique and different. If you ask me, all the others are the same… cookie cutter & corporate!

The best ever was Taco Inn on N Dixie in Northridge, long gone but not forgotten. Next is El Greco’s on Salem near Gettysburg. Yum Yum!

I will say that HHB and chipotle are in a different class than taco bell. They are fast casual. Taco bell is crap fast food served by teenagers and uneducated workers. HHB and Chipotle take care of there customers and care about the quality of food. HHB is better than Chipotle because of the varity, price and atmosphere. El Toro, La fiesta (why isnt that on the list to vote?) el sombraro are more traditional sit down mexican food how does that compare to the fast casual expereriance, it doesnt. If your looking for the best burrito in town go to HOT HEAD BURRITOS!!!

Carmel’s is the WORST food I’ve ever paid for. The salsa was little more than watered down Ragu, and they misspelled fajita (they spelled it fagita) on their menu. Do not eat here EVER unless you like having diarrhea.

My favorites. Burrito bowl from Chipotle and California burrito from Pepito’s. All others make me sick.

Taqueria Mixteca is the most authentic and locally owned - I’m from TX, so I know a little about mexican food. I really like Flavors also - but I don’t really classify them as mexican.

I cannot not believe so many people are voting for Hot Head Burrito. I would never step foot in that restaurant. Chipotle is the only place for me! They have quality fresh food and it is obvious when you eat it! Remember HH may be cheaper but I believe you get what you pay for. #1 Chipotle Fan!

Really? Hot Head? Whomever has voted for anything other than Mixteca has no idea what good Mexican food is. The people who voted for Mixteca are the only people with any knowledge of food and who have a sophisticated palate!!

Flavors Eatery in Centerville has the most variety and unique burritos in the city. I have had Hot Head, Chipotle, and many others on the list. They do not compare to Flavors. They use quality FRESH ingredients and the owners make you feel special every time you come in. Regardless of the results of this survey, everyone should visit Flavors.

For fast food burritos you can’t beat HOT HEAD! Those who don’t like HOT HEAD haven’t tried HOT HEAD! If you want a restaurant burrito it would be ELSA”S!

Seems to me we left out one of the better one in town. Bunkers in Vandalia serves Mexican every Wednesday night and puts most of these area mexican burritos to shame!!!

La Pinata…hands down the best mexican food in the Dayton area. Its the only mexican food comparable to dishes down in the southwest!

That Hot Head is the winner makes me very suspicious of foul play. There’s a lot of negative vibe coming out of Urbanspoon, and it seems like Hot Head’s answer to it is to pad the entries with false reviews. The false reviews are easy to spot: the user signed up on the same day of the review and they only have 1 review to their name. I’ve seen the same phrasing by the same person across multiple locations. Very suspicious. To all restaurant owners out there: spend more time on improving your product instead of padding online posts. You’re not fooling anyone.

I’m a Dayton transplant, but I have lived here for 27 years. Early on I discovered that Dayton’s culinary tastes seemed to be lacking. The same people that voted for Hot Head are probably the same one who think the Marions and Cassanos make good pizza. Hot Head ranks as one of the worst burrito I have ever eaten. Heck, Taco Bell is better than Hot Head and Taco Bell is bad. Any of the “real” Mexican restaurants on the list make a better burrito than Hot Head, Chipotle, Qdoba, Taco Bell and any other fast food franchises shouldn’t even be allowed on the list.

Chipotle is the best. Tried Hot Heads twice w/ the buy one get one free and thats the only reason I went back the second time. (Englewood). It would have to be nearly free for me to go back. Hot Heads just does not compare. Taco Bell is not even in the running. They cook all the chips, cinnamon things and everything else they fry in the same grease and it tastes like crap.
