I would like to second the comment above. How dare you not include the Old Hickory (Hickory BBQ on Brown Street)?! They do indeed have the best steaks in the Miami Valley and certainly when you consider the value you get. For Shame!

I am a fat man that loves to eat and have been fortunate to travel the world over to find good food. Of all the steak houses I been to, I have to say the The Oakwood Club has the best tasting steak I have ever had. The service there is one of a kind.

You have to come to Oakwood for the best steaks in Dayton. The Oakwood Club and Pine Club rule. Period. End of discussion!

I have been to many of the best steakhouses in the country(Peter Lugers, Papas Bros, Shulas to name of few) and the porterhouse at the Oakwood Club is the best steak in town. The best steak under $20 would be at the Old Hickory on Brown.

Kent’s Steak house is so yummy!! The freshness of everything they serve I think makes it the best. They have done a wonderful job and very afordable.

Us poor boys enjoy a nice T-bone steak at The Waffle House. No joke… it’s a big juicy steak made to order and you don’t pay extra for “ambiance” lol.

A great steak is a great steak. The best steak is about service and atmosphere. Agree?

Miss Molly’s is one of the those places that is off the radar due to the location in Farmersville but, has a Filet that will melt in your mouth. Well worth the travel….

A good steak is a good steak, regardless of the price. There are many factors that should count… price, service, and most important… the taste. There seems to be to much “trash” talk on these postings. Vote for what you like and keep the “trash” at home!

There is no doubt about it — Carver’s has the best steak - martinis, and ambience. Keep up the good work.

For sheer quality of steak, atmosphere & service, Fleming’s is tops! Oakwood & Pine Clubs, including their sides, is the best deal and close on quality!!

The Florentine in Germantown, has the best porterhouse steak, you almost dont need a knife to cut! Done just the way you want it, with lots of sauteed mushrooms.

Kent’t is a great place for steak or anything else. No games to eat. You don’t have to wait in a cramped bar waiting forever to get a table. Make the drive to Troy. It’s well worth it! Kent is on-premise and visits customers.

Kents steakhouse in Troy was the worst steak I have ever had. I got stuck buying a Prime filet for 32$ and it was poor quality of meat. It came to me over done and the texture of a roast. A poorly cooked roast. Not tender at all. And the manager was not friendly at all. Don’t waste the money.

The Oakwood Club is consistently excellent. Pine Club is no longer a reliable quality steak. Flemings is a great special occasion spot.

My 1st thought when looking at the list of restaurants to vote from was… Where’s the Hickory on Brown? I go to the comments section and I see I’m not the only one with the same thought. Then I look at the list again and see that Treasure Island is also not listed!! Granted, Dayton has several very good steak places. And The Hickory and Treasure Island deserve to be listed also. And just to annoy some people…. I’ve always thought the Pine Club was overrated. It’s good but it’s not as great as everyone tries to make it out to be. Flemings defintiely up there in quality, but then again it better be based on price. I tend to go to the locally owned restaurants before the chains, that way I know most of my money is staying in the area and not going off to some corporate headquarters in another state or city.

Hickory on Brown is by far the best steak for the price. Also, you can’t beat their ribs and chicken - Not sure how they missed getting on this list. They are also open for lunch - so you can get that great steak for lunch if you want.

Sycamore Creek County Club in Springboro has the best steak in town — either the NY Strip with Onion Straws, the Porterhouse or the twin filets are outstanding. Chef Bill Smith is the best!

Fleming has the quality, atmosphere and service. Steaks are always tender and cooked to perfection, served on extremely hot plates. Only place I know in town that serves Prime Beef. Happy hour is not bad either:)

I’ve been to Fleming’s and had average service, terrible food, and the atmosphere was lame. The Oakwood Club and Carvers are by far more consistent.
