Food at Namaste India is amazing. For a up and coming local restaurant the service and price is unbeatable, and they will cater to your needs (allergies) and the food will still be amazing. It definitely has to be one of the best kept secrets in town. Too bad the secrets out.

I have lived in around Dayton Mall area for about ten years and “Namaste India” is the only Indian restaurant I have heard of. Namaste India has a wide selection of Indian food, pricing is very GREAT (for a college student like me) and very friendly environment. I have recommended this restaurant to many people.

I am going with Namaste India on this, for sure. They haven’t even been open for one year, yet their popularity has risen above most of Dayton’s oldest restaurants. They are doing everything perfectly. If you haven’t been here, your missing out!!

This survey is more than a little misleading. Both Amar and Jeet are run by the same family, the Singhs. Their recipes are nearly identical, only varying by who’s in the kitchen on any given day. That said, I greatly prefer them to Ajanta, or any of the others listed. The food’s spectacular, and the service has always been impeccable. My wife and I have become Jeet regulars.

India Chaat is new so not so well known. It’s also small. But the food is the best and most Indian of them all. Lots of Indians eat there. Very delicious and cheap, too.

I love eating out and have tried every single Indian place in town. Amar is by far the best (Jeet too as its run by the same family). Reading the reviews here i dont know how people can say Nameste is good as i found it to be way off its game (if it ever had one). If you want to be assured of a great meal every time, then its Amar or Jeet.

I have dined at all but one of the restuarants listed. Amar India is by far my favorite. The food is always consistent and well prepared to your liking. I do have to give Namaste props for doing such a fine job for a newly opened restuarant. They were very good but Amar is still my favorite.

Ive dined at all the restaurants listed for a few years now. And as others have said amar and jest are owned by the same person. I believe the actual competition comes down to amar and namaste, but I believe these two are total opposites. Amar is very traditional and while the food TASTES great, however like mostindian food it is fairly unhealthy. Now namaste has definitely adapted to current trends and still happens to make the food DELICIOUS AND HEALTHY. They have definitely moved away from the norm for Indian restaurants and they’ve done a great job. So I will let you decide on what is better. Have fun!!

If you want the best, the only place to go is Amar. Its the best from the friendly service to the amazing food. Coming from a air-force family, we move alot around the country, and Amar is by far the best Indian food Ive had. If you are going to vote, make it count by voting for the Best.

Here’s the deal. If you’re looking for quantity and low price, you can’t beat Namaste. If you want top quality but smaller portions, Amar/Jeet is far superior.

Kohinoor Palace for me is the very best. And I grew up in Singapore where they have a great mix of all asian and indian food to eat. I have tried almost all of the above list. Love Kohinoor Palace the best.

Amar was the first Indian restaurant I tried in Dayton well over a decade ago and there’s a reason they’ve lasted as long as they had. Great food, love the vindaloo. It’s too bad Maharaja was not on the list, they are very good, too. The food at Namaste is fine but I have never had good service there, it’s like some of the people behind the counter don’t know what they’re doing.

Amar rocks. No comparison. Two words: Chicken Saag. Tis all you need (although tossing a bit of spicy onion chutney on top makes for a little colorful liveliness).

I love Jeet India…the service there is great…a friend and I were eatting lunch there after class and wasn’t aware they closed at 2pm…and they didn’t bother us or ask us to leave…when we realized they closed we apologize and they were very sweet about it…they have the best buffet I have ever had and the Chicken Curry is so amazing…would recommend to anyone!

Kohinoor is tasty and you get plenty of food; they have a pretty decent buffet, also. Most of all, they don’t give you the hairy eyeball when you come in by yourself. (It’s been nearly a decade, but I won’t go back to Amar for this reason.) Ajanta is also very nice.

Amar India really sucks. The service is lousy, the owners very greedy and need some attitude adjustment. India Chat is too small and Kohinoor palace highly overpriced.

Amar India service by far is the very best. They have full time staff that stands near the counter at all times watching all tables should any one need something as well as multiple table servers. Extra staff makes sure service is fast. Whom ever makes statements about poor service is simply lying. The food is alway fresh and even has special items not on the menu, ask for a special wrap Surjit invented that no one else has, and that is the Mattu Special, it is great! Sad how some of the other Indian places that are not as good try to mislead us. They are only hurting themselves. Mike Garvey

Amar India and Jeet India are perhaps your best bet if you are looking for real authentic North Indian cuisine. I have traveled all over USA and still feel that they are the best! Don’t believe me, try them!

Jeet is the winner for us for taste, WSU location; price of buffet; and quality! If you have never tried Indian food go to the buffet at lunch. The finickiest of eaters will love the Chicken Marsala and kids will love the Tandoori Chicken, while you sample everything else. Spicy does not necessarily mean “hot,” (but it can). Spicy means flavorful!

Each of these places offer different types of food because indian food has lot of variety which is made available for Daytonities by new restaurants….. Buffet with 4 different curries, rice and roti is not the real definition of Indian food. This was the only food available to Daytonites few years ago. Its all changed now….thanks to new places like Namaste N India chaat Namaste India offers newest trends in indian food along with traditional ones. It does have authentic Indian touch with really great appetizer choices. (Ragda pattis, kachori and gujrathi kadhi is simply the best. No other restaurant in the area offer these items). They have different special item every day. India chaat makes the good Biryani in town as well as their south indian menu items like masala dosa N Idli are great. Kohinoors Buffet always surprises me with new items and their weekend buffet is on top of the list. Jeet and Amar india are good for corporate parties due to their service and large group accommodation ability but their food is not changed in last 10 years. Overall as a food enthusiast, Namaste india is definitely the winner this year followed by India Chaat.

For great naan, fantastic jalebis, a tasty buffet and very friendly service, Ajanta India is hard to beat. Food at India Chaat is also very tasty, with the special Sri-Lankan touch to the regular Indian fare, especially the South Indian items. Namaste is new and also good with their chaat and South Indian menu items.

I have tried tried the three restaurants near the Dayton mall. When it comes to my favorite dishes ( Chicken Korma and or Butter Chicken ) It hasn’t even been close for me! Amar wins hands down! The cleanliness, service, consistency ( of food ) and warmth of my friends at Amar is second to none!

I have eaten at all of the indian restaurants on the list. I love Amar’s Chicken Tikka Masala and Garlic Naan as that is what i usually get but it is a bit pricy for a quick lunch or dinner carryout. I have found an alternative to my usual from Namaste. I stop in there for the Chicken Tikka Masala Wrap. OMG, Chicken Tikka Masala, tomato, lettuce and feta cheese wrapped in naan bread it is soo good and only costs $5.60. as compared to 15.00 for the whole Chicken Tikka meal and naan meal at Amar.

So, is Amar paying people to post or something? Because the last three (at least) are from the same person. Could have at least attempted different names. P.S. Namaste India will surpass all Indian restaurants by next year, no doubt.

We were there for the lunch buffet and they would not let us use our coupon. The excuse was that the manager was not there. We will not be returning.
