Marions pizza is by far the best pizza around!!! Thank you to Marions for doing this and all of the staff for the hard work during the special price pizzas today. It was well worth the wait.

As a transplanted New Yorker, the hardest thing for me - besides having no Deli’s or all nigh stores - was finding a true New York Style Pizza! Then … RockRoc-A-Fellas Beavercreek Pizza Dive opened up claiming “New York Style Pizza” … my wife and I tried it, and I was knocked out! Even though my wife is from Xenia, she’s experienced Pizza from a real Italian Pizzeria on our trips back to the east coast, and she agrees … this pizza rivals “Pizza King” on Long Island! So, long live Roc-A-Fellas Beavercreek Pizza Dive … the BEST Pizza around!!!! Now they even have Cannolis … Yes!!! John Bellucci

As far as the Ohio-style thin crust pizzas in the Dayton area… Ron’s pizza is the best! Sorry folks but Marion’s is more about a name and tradition, not the actual quality of the food. Cassano’s used to be awesome but has suffered from quality and quantity cutbacks through the years. Ron’s Pizza is still made the same way since 1964. The pepperoni and sausage is locally made, the dough is fresh- not frozen, the cheese is real Provolone… not greasy mozzarela. Taste for yourself. If you go to the West Carrollton store say Hi to Dave for me, he has ran the store for 19 years.

Marions has always had quality pizza. This year they have run 25% off coupons almost every month, instead of the twice a year as ususal. Now the 60’s prices for a day. That shows they appreciate their customers and try to help them still enjoy a luxury in tough times.

Remember Noble Roman’s Deep Dish Sicilian? If you loved them, try Jet’s Pizza. Their pizza is very close, if not better. I also like Johnny’s Pizza, who is the original Roc-a-fella. Their New York style is off the hook.

I just love Roc-a-fellas pizza, When we go out for pizza that’s where we go. Mt favorite is their BBQ chicken, what at great pizza. I haven’t had pizza this good since an old pizzaria in Pittsburgh, PA. in the 80’s. I love the staff too. Fun and friendly.

Marion’s??? I just don’t get it, unless you grew up locally. It reminds me of a saltine cracker with tomato paste and bland toppings… it isn’t pizza. That is bar food quality at other locations/regions. Why not select Speedway’s pizza next time, it a close choice!

South Park Tavern has great pizza… and great beer! Sounds like i have a few more spots to try out though! I do agree with pizza guy! If you do like thin style crust, you must try Ron’s Pizza (Multiple Locations) or Don’s Pizza Palace (Germantown). Marion’s comes close to those guys, but only Ron’s and Don’s truly knows how to perfect the thin crust.

Our favorite pizza in Dayton has always been Hoagie’s pizza, We have ate there for about 30 years now & We have tried most pizza’s in the Dayton area & “NO” other pizza has beat the taste, price, or the amount of pizza that you get for your buck, (they sure pile on lots of yummy toppings!!) Now if you like thick crust with great sauce & piles of cheese & toppings at a great price try a Hoagie’s pizza..

Marions, no way! Their wafer like pie doesn’t come close to a real pizza. Must be the specials they offer to the locals who know nothing about a real pizza. Try Joe’s and you’ll find out what a real pizza feels and tastes like. Remember, its Joe’s on Airway Rd. and I said it!

What happened to God Father’s. Their pizzas used to be so thick and full of ingredients that you could only eat one slice? The pizza is now thinner and the price higher. Pizza Huts $10 offer has made me change to other pizza places because since you pay only $10 you get $5 worth of toppings!!! Right now, Marion’s is a favorite. Though they could add a little more cheese.

Remember the Kenley Players who performed in Dayton in the 60’s and 70’s? The folks voting for Marion’s Pizza apparently do. The last time Marion’s had the best Pizza in Dayton was when Kenley Players’ audiences flocked to Marions after a concert at Memorial Hall. A lot of superior pizza has entered the Dayton market since then.

For the BEST pizza in town you simply must go to The LITTLE YORK TAVERN, their pizza is so delicious it makes my mouth water, the toppings are piled on and the sauce is to die for. If you haven’t been to LITTLE YORK TAVERN you are truly missing out!!!! I would vote for the Best Pizza in town if it were on the list but since LITTLE YORK TAVERN is not on the poll I can’t vote for it LITTLE YORK TAVERN Really look it up stop in you will see

JOE’S PIZZA - NO MISTAKE So many people assume that Marion’s would be the number 1 pizza in Dayton due to it’s various locations and long standing name. However, if you want a true home favorite pizza than you must choose JOE’S PIZZA on Airway/Smithville. The most delicious pizza that I ever ate for many many years. To this day it is still my favorite and I have tried them all. If you haven’t tried Joe’s than you really haven’t tried the best pizza in town.

I have to include Yellow Springs in my pizza vote - Ye Old Trail Tavern best pizza I have had in Ohio - bar none. Most Ohio pizza’s are bland, with bland tomato sauce (yes, Marion’s) but Tavern is great - I am from Chicago, spend time in NYC and this is by far the best, though I will try Little York from these comments.

Marion’s family is continuing the tradition of success, as so many sons and daughters of successful businessmen have not. The recipe remains the same. The quality of the product has not been compromised through greed. My family enjoys the the same great pizza (and very cold beer!) almost weekly at the Town and Country location, and we will continue to do so for years to come! Marion’s is a family tradition for us!

Obviously, most people who have voted have not eaten at Dewey’s. Hands down the best pizza In Dayton. And there’s a huge difference between a “local favorite” or hangout versus “good food.” I’m referring to Marion’s. I’ve been to many pizzerias throughout the country and Marion’s is by far the worst pizza I’ve eaten. I’ve had frozen pizza that’s better. I’ve had school cafeteria pizza that’s better. Their pizza crust is similar to thin, tasteless cardboard, both in texture and in flavor. The toppings do not appear nor taste fresh, but seem too be straight from a can. The meat toppings are greasy, over-cooked and just not palatable. I can’t believe we had to stand in line over 30 minutes for this “famous” pizza. My wife and I, and my 4 children—al teenagers—voted unanimously that we will never go back. Sorry Daytonians, not being rude, just being honest.

Pizza can be interpreted so differently! If I’m in the mood for little thin squares I love Little York, if I want those spicy little pepperonis then Joe’s is the BEST, thicker saucy squares then I head to Hoagies and for real New York Style PIE I head to Johnny’s in Centerville. It is the original Roc-a-Fellas. Johnny wrote all the recipes himself. A nice slice that you can fold and eat like a true New Yorker! So I guess it just depends on my “pizza mood”!

How can Dewey’s be the best pizza in Dayton when it’s 40 miles away? Since Marion’s can ‘o pizza has 6 locations divide total votes by 6. Giovanni’s is as close as it gets to ‘best pizza’ but I don’t exactly consider Fairborn Dayton either. I have 6 pizzerias within 2 miles and they all stink. They all use the same oven, same supplier, so what’s the diff? I’ll eat a Red Barron’s thick crust for $4 and it’ll be better than anything in Dayton.

Love it -I went to Marions once and I won’t go back because it took forever for someone to talk to me, look or even realize I was standing there …maybe they didn’t care but when I finally got taken care of the food was not good at all…(as in pizza from a box is better or just as good) Go to Giovannis! Hey…looks like Giovanni’s is doing some cheating! They’ve had an unusual amount of votes in the past 24 hours. Now Giovanni’s is my favorite pizza, but if they are going to cheat or stuff the ballot, what’s the point in winning if they have to cheat to do it? Whoever is cheating, STOP IT and grow up! Don’t be like Joe’s Pizza the last two years when they cheated and “won”. Everyone knows what they did and that they were not Dayton’s best pizza the last 2 years because they cheated.

Ummm…actually you do have to advertise in order for people to know about you but I am not here to talk about that. I work at Giovannis and there was a mention about the voting of best in dayton on the air.(I heard it but don’t know who did it) But it was mentioning on the voting in General -everyone has the free will and thier own mind to choose who they vote for or even to vote at all. Also we do tell our customers about the voting so they are aware of it because people don’t even know …a ton said they never even heard of it -again, we let them know it is going on. (I have seen advertisment online for it as well from other pizza places) We don’t give free food away. Is someone else? That would be tacky! That would be wrong! But I’m not sure if a free piece would make me vote for them …it would make me go get a free piece though. lol

Marion’s customer service sucks. I use to go to Marion’s once a week and just got tired of getting treated like I had the plague. Maybe it’s a cultural thing with the employees at the store in ‘creek. Been passing by joe’s for at least 5 years and decided to stop one day. That pizza is great! I think they sprinkle drugs on their pizza! I am addicted!!!

Joe’s Pizzeria makes their pizza with love:). Even if they don’t make it into the top three they are still the best. they are always busy and they don’t advertise nor do they deliver. 50 years of good pizza, excellent customer service, great prices … always will be #1 in my book despite the results of some contest. Keep up the good work Joe’s Pizzeria. Your customers know who really rocks!!!

Marion’s by far is the best and what other pizza place rolls back prices….2.50 for a large deluxe pizza. And when I was there all the employees seemed to be having a great time.

Giovanni’s by far is the best pizza ever!! Price has nothing to do with taste and no pizza tastes better than Giovanni’s in Fairborn.

Joes is aaaaaaaamazing duh! Best dough, meats, cheese and sauce! But of course Marions will get the win again cause people seem to like their unbaked soft dough and rough sauce, yuck.

I only go to marion’s once a year, and that’s when they have their “anniversary sale”. I honestly would never pay more than 2.50 for a marion’s pizza. The crust is like cardboard and the sauce is bland. Joe’s Pizzeria is the all around best pizza in Dayton. We don’t have to advertise to get our customers. One trip to Joe’s and you’ll be a customer for life. If you haven’t tried it yet, I highly recommend.

My favorite pizza didn’t make the list. Go out to Jackass Flats on Rip Rap road and try their pizza…it is hands down the best!

There is only one pizza East of the Mississippi that I will drive hours to have, and that pizza is Marions. Love the pepperoni & sausage. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it.

I just don’t get it. I really don’t have a favorite pizza. Oregon Express, Little York, Roc-A-Fellas, Flying Pizza, and some others can all make a pretty good pizza. But I have 2 that are absolutely terrible and I have gotten to the point where I refuse to eat either. Marion’s and Cassano’s. I’ve lived in Dayton for 26 years and still can’t understand why so many people think these 2 pizza chains are good to even great. I guess they have never had a really good pizza. Actually, I think Marions is probably the worst pizza I’ve ever had….

I’m always surprised when people rave about Marion’s—it’s flat and bland and uses cheap toppings. I thought it was the worst pizza in town until I tried Giavonni’s, which I found to be inedible. I’m willing to try some new places based on comments here, but the only good pizza I’ve had in Dayton is at Uno’s.
