I can’t vote if you don’t have my favorite bakery on your list? Granny C’s Bakery in Huber Heights! Everything is so good! Cookies, breads, croutons, cupcakes, cakes, brownies, special breads and many more yummy items I haven’t tried yet, but will over the summer. Very friendly staff and everything is homemade - some of it has even still been warm when I’ve walked in. After posting this, I think I may just head over there. It’s on 202/Old Troy Pike a little north of Needmore. They would get my vote if they were on your list!

Gaytko’s bakery (formerly evan’s!) is the best neighborhood bakery ever, made from scratch daily, from hundred yr old recipes, fresh hot glazed donuts from the fryer, creams horns, cakes, the danish, coffee cakes, vienna bread(!), nobody makes it like Gaytkos Bakery does!!! Its an OND establisment, if you go there then so did you parents, and your grandparents, nothing beats tradition, adn nothing beats a fresh donut from Gaytko’s bakery (or a turnover, or a cream horn, or a danish, cookie, muffin, or an eclair!!!) They are the best!

Like a lot of people from our area, I was sad when Woody’s closed because I feared I would no longer have access to their bakery. Luckily the folks from the bakery stared their own shop. Ele makes the very best cakes. I’m sure these other places are fine bakeries but no way can they hold a birthday candle to Ele’s buttercream frosting. Yum!

Ashley’s Bakery not only has fantastic bakery items, but what also makes it so special is the quaint, “small town” feel you get when you walk in. Theresa and her staff will get to know you by name and give you service as though she has known you for years! Need I mention that she has taken her passion for baking even to those of us that are Gluten Free? Fantastic!

To you all people complaining… you live in a free market economy and competition is the name of the game. Doing what it takes to get customers as long as it’s by the rules, is just basic Economics. Don’t like it? Maybe you’re in the wrong country.

The owners of Boosalis Baking Co. asked their son to advertise over message boards to gain votes and some of these messages boards are using scripts to rig the voting so they can vote multiple times. These sites include facepunch 4chan somethingawful Boosalis needs to be disqualified for rigging the votes and possible law enforcement pursued.

To all the haters who hate Boosalis. You’ve done nothing but make yourselves look stupid. To the site, the polls are not biased in anyway, using nothing more than the social networkings of facebook and blogosphere know how Boosalis earned its votes. These haters even admit to saying false comments. The rules were not violated by anybody. If you have a comment or question hit us up on our twitter or facebook group.

Good luck to Boosalis, and a big thumbs down to anyone saying bad things about them. We live in an age of communication, you can’t be successful in life you don’t have contacts - starting from a job interview to a best bakery competition on an internet site, it still all revolves around your social skills and your contacts.

Okay, so a bakery has more votes than you they’re suddenly cheating/using scripts? I’d have you know that right now Facepunch has 3511 viewers - how can you possibly say any script is being used? I’m pretty sure if a script hack was used there’d be a lot more votes anyway.

Boosalis Bakery is the finest bakery in the greater Dayton area. All of the breads and baked goods are simply wonderful. Their french baguette is just like you would find in Paris; their croissants, the same—light, flaky, and absolutely delicious. In fact, all of their pastries are fabulous, made with the highest quality ingredients and with a true baker’s art. The people who work in the bakery are wonderful as well: hard-working and friendly. I live in Oakwood and though there are several bakeries close by and I’ve tried them all, I drive all the way over to Boosalis because their bread and other baked goods just can’t be beat. I highly recommend them to anyone who truly loves to eat.

I’ve been to Boosalis Bakery. I live in Detroit, MI., but every year when I make my trip down to Tennessee, I make sure I stop there. I don’t have a single complaint about their goods. They get my vote for sure. And to you people shouting “They’re making scripts” I can tell you they’re not. If they had been making scripts, the votes would be in the Hundred thousands within an hour.

By Cody

June 25, 2010 1:36 PM | Link to this

So, people are going to drive all the way to Boosalis just so they can vote for them? Yeah, right. The votes are all pretty much based on the opinions of actual customers that went their, which still counts as a good vote to me.

The Best of Dayton Polls are a way for customers to show their support for their favorite category. At Ashley’s we are so fortunate to have been in business in the Miami Valley for 28 years and have GREAT customers. Along with being a strong supporter of Dayton and the many charities/organizations that do so much good in our home town, through their voting they continue to show their support. We thank you. Let’s keep in mind, this poll HELPS all of us if done in a positive manner.

Boosalis makes great cakes. But why all the hate saying they’re cheating when they aren’t? Look at Ashley’s. They too have something up on the internet, on twitter and facebook. Facebook is a much larger community than any internet forum, so taste the cakes and don’t say people are cheating.

I own Belmont Bakery and I’m appauled at this voting. This has become just what wasn’t needed in this city. My business is very small but we try to do the best we possibly can. I appreciate my customers as does the other contestants, but this is out of control. I know I won’t win but at this point I’d rather not. It’s become a “who knows who” rather than a quality judgement. Best of luck to everyone else.

Boosalis Baking IS Dayton’s number one bakery. All you have to do is step into the beautiful bakery and see this place is different than all the other local bakeries. The place is warm and inviting, the staff treats you like family and your opinion matters here. Try on of their scones! They are addicting. And that feta and cheese croissant is a meal in itself. Then there's their lunch menu with everything from the chicken salad to the Greek salad dressing made by hand. It is all so yummy...I am getting hungry just writing about this place. Matt and Mindy make this a great place to hang out. I wish them much success. They deserve it. Give Boosalis Baking a try. Your tastebuds will thank you. And you will keep coming back for more.

What should it be today? The chocolate croissant? The cranberry walnut bread? Assiago cheese bread? Some madelines? A dozen decorated iced sugar cookies? What’s not to love about a visit to Boosalis Baking??? Mindy and Matt make you feel at home right away. They fill you up on samples of all their delicious hand made pastries and breads. Mindy has a hug, Matt a story. It's like visiting a favorite aunt and uncle. They are here for you, they feed you and they care deeply about the bread and baked goods that they make. Everything my family has had at Boosalis Baking is outstanding. And we have lived in several big cities where bakeries are on every corner. Dayton, wise up. You have a hidden gem in Boosalis Baking! The quality is no comparison to anything else in Dayton, they remind you what customer service should be, they care and create delicious, quality baked goods and artisan breads. Give them a try. Your family will thank you. They are my family's favorite bakery, it will be yours too. Hope you win. You deserve it and then some!

Boosalis Bakery prides itself on using the best quality ingredients to make the most delicious baked items in Dayton. If you haven’t tried their breads, cakes, cookies and scones you are missing out.

Congratulations Boosalis. You took this from a fun friendly competition to a hateful and hurtful competition. The people in charge of this website were so happy at the beginning of the week because of the positive feedback they were getting from this weeks category. I bet they would say the complete opposite after some of the posts that your “fans” have been posting. Before you got involved with the facepunch all the comments were so positive and friendly now I am afraid to get on and see what your “fans” will say next about these other hard working bakeries.

I vote for Boosalis Baking. Why not? Great baked goods, great service. I don’t think it is relevant to comment on other peoples posts. It’s all personal opinion about which bakery is your personal favorite, not an opportunity to bad mouth the other bakeries or the actual competition.

My vote still goes to the only real bakery in this town and that Granny C’s Bakery. You should really give them a try! www.grannycsbakery.com
