Have tried a variety of steak options - strip, ribeye, filet, porterhouse - at many of these establishments but always return back to Carver’s. When someone has recommended others, I try it, but they are simply not as good. For the money, it cannot be beat in the Dayton area.

Oakwood Club has the best steaks in Dayton. I’ve had steaks all over the U.S.A. in fine dining restaurants and always compare them to The Oakwood Club. None beat The Oakwood Club steaks. Bob in Minneapolis

Pine Club hands down for me. Simply been looking for a better steak and can not find one. I would like to get up to Hyde Park in Columbus. As of last year, really was interested in trying Fleming’s….big disappointment. Was not a fan at all. The next one I want to try is the Buckhorn. Oakwood Club is number two for me.

I don’t even know why Logan’s is on this list there steaks are horrible and they always mess them up, but yet another one is opening up by the Dayton Mall, I will make sure to avoid that place. I vote for them for the worse steak. Texas Roadhouse has a great steak especially for the price. Pine Club and Oakwook Club are great as well, but for the price Texas Roadhouse is a better deal, atmosphere though go to one of the other ones.

Pine Club #1, then Oakwood Club #2 for Dayton. However if I really want a great steak, I drive to Cincinnati for one of Jeff Rubys great steaks. They melt in ones mouth. Plus way lot more to do in Cincy then Dayton. Go to a Reds game, or a show at the Aronof and walk to Rubys. From the Aronoff it is across the street, not far from GABP. Again Dayton does have two great Steak places. Pine Club/Oakwood Club. Forget the Fast Food Steak houses. Slow and aged beef is the best. OR if you really want a great steak, buy some Kobie beef and fix it at you house, wont cost as much.

How can I vote for the best steak in Dayton when the restaurant with the best steak isn’t on the list, Old Hickory on Brown Street!!!!!

Tin Roof in Troy has the best steaks. They cook them on corn fire grill and they are awesome. Best flavor and so tender. Better than charcoal or wood fire.

Tin Roof in Troy is a new place to eat with a great view of the levy and river- the steaks are hand cut by the owner daily and grilled over a corn burning grill- whick gives them a great flavor without the carcinogens of wood or gas! We eat there twice a week!Goood

What about the Wellington? You list Flemings, Lone Star, Texas Roadhouse, Tumbleweed, and Logans which are uniform no matter which one of their restaurants across the country you go to, but you don’t list an actual Dayton owned and operated non-chain?

Please, everyone—-Support the local guys! Old Hickory, Grubsteak, Original Rib…all have great steaks and even more important, wonderful service from our Dayton friends and neighbors who own our local restaurants and appreciate your business!!!

The chains are fine, but if you want a great steak with service to match, try one of our local restaurants… Original Rib, Old Hickory Main St. or Old Hickory Brown Street, Pine Club, Oakwood Club——those owners really appreciate your business as more than a sales contest with the cross-town location!!!

the best steak served in Dayton and the surrounding area is at my house. I have the very best and nobody is invited. So, go to your “steak houses” and get 2nd rate meat. Kobi is the best and I have it and I love it. The Japs beat us again!

Pine Club used to be far and away the best. I have been very disappointed the last couple of times. Oakwood club is OK usually but my first choice is not Buckhorn Tavern. Of course the NY Strip I’m making on the grill tonight will be great too!

As a Chef, Pine Club followed by Old Hickory. St Elmo’s in Indy is #2 if you don’t mind a drive.

Pine Club is definitely the best in Dayton. Hand cut, aged beef….that doesn’t happen at the corporate places. Also the corporate places cook steaks to temperature using a thermometer instead of by feel. This releases all of the juices and dries the meat out.

O’Charley’s on Miller Lane has the best filet mignon! They “butterfly” it and it is so good!

Buckhorn Tavern is a fantastic steakhouse that really needs to be recognized for the great steaks they offer. Their angus filet rivals Pine Club’s. Always cooked perfectly to order with plenty of specialty sides to choose from. Buckhorn Tavern has been long overlooked by greater Dayton.

The bone-in ribeye at the Pine Club is the best steak I’ve ever had, bar none. I’ve eaten steaks in top restaurants in NY, LA, Chicago, Paris and Buenos Aires, and none have surpassed it. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

Hickory on Brown is the best steak in Dayton, at a reasonable price. The Pine Club is over priced.

The Hickory on Brown is by far the best steak in the country. I’ve traveled many places, eaten many steaks and non can touch the taste of these steaks. If they only had the stewed tomatoes & onion straws of the Pine Club, it would be a perfect meal.

What is wrong with people? Picking O’Charley’s, Longhorn, Texas Roadhouse??? They all use meat tenderizers on their steaks!! DUH That’s why it’s so cheap. I am so glad I moved out of Dayton, it seems like everyone there is mindless sheep. Clearly Oakwood Club is the best, even though I would have picked Pine Club, but they don’t take plastic.
