Theater hall of fame names inductees
The Dayton Theatre Hall of Fame has chosen its 2011 inductees.
Doug Lloyd, Carol Finley, and Lois and Don Bigler will be honored Aug. 11 during hall of fame ceremonies and the annual DayTony Awards presentation, recognizing the best in local theater. The event will be in the Ponitz Center (Building 12) on the northwest corner of Fourth and Perry streets in Dayton.
Lloyd has distinguished himself as a director at both the Beavercreek Community Theatre and the Dayton Playhouse. Contemporary musicals have been his primary focus.
Finley, who has designed costumes and properties for both the Dayton Theatre Guild and Human Race Theatre Company, has been a board member, volunteer and stalwart Guild supporter.
The Biglers have been board members, contributors and passionate audience members for local theater for many years.
Tickets for the DayTonys are $35 until Aug. 1, $50 after. Cost includes dinner, dessert, parking, the ceremony and dancing to a live band. Call (937) 654-0400 for more information or visit www.daytonys.org.
