WDPR Young Talent Search names 7
Dayton classical music station WDPR-FM, 88.l, has chosen seven student musicians in its third annual Young Talent Search.
Besides being interviewed and spotlighted on the “Arts Focus” program (7:55 a.m. and 4:55 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays), they will perform at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 15, in a free public concert at the University of Dayton’s Sears Recital Hall.
Honorees and their instruments are: Valerie Ankeney, 15, French horn, a sophomore at Miamisburg High School; Damian Ballester, 17, cello, a home-schooled junior; Joshua Crosby, 17, violin, a junior at Centerville High School; Benjamin Fryxell, 17, cello; Max Lyman, 18, guitar, a senior at Miami Valley School; Elizabeth Wareham, 17, violin, a home-schooled junior; Yiran Zhang, 16, piano, a junior at Beavercreek High School.
