Fraze announces Friday acts
Fraze Pavilion has announced the attractions for two of its popular $5 Friday night concerts during the 2011 summer season.
The 1980s tribute band Rubik’s Kube will perform at 8 p.m. July 22 and area rock favorites The Menus will return at 8 p.m. Aug. 12 to the stage at 695 Lincoln Park Blvd. in Kettering.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, for both events, along with two of the season’s biggest shows — Trace Adkins, July 16, and Lynyrd Skynyrd, Sept. 2.
For more information, call (937) 296-3300 or visit the redesigned Fraze website at www.fraze.com.

This is insanity! They want your money now (1/8/11) and the Lynyrd Skynyrd concert is not until September 2, 2011!!!!! NO THANKS!

I’m looking forward to the the performance by Carlos Mendoza and his Five Piece OOGHA Band. There’s nothing like the Tex-Mex sound of a bunch of Mexicans playing tuba’s.

The Skynyrd show will sell out quickly…to those willing to pay this far in advance—WTUE is promoting it. Thing that kills me is the Menu’s - Howie Mandel + a mediocre band = comedy act. I guess cross-dressing and kicking balloons trumps musicianship!?

Null, do I really have to quote my mother….? If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all. If you want to complain about the Fraze, be my guest but your comment to Stan was uncalled for and childish.

I for one am thankful for the FRAZE. It brings in decent acts for a decent price. The area is generally clean, and the patrons orderly. The prices for alcoholic beverages are certainly lower than most other similar venues, and it is within a reasonable driving distance from home. FWIW, the reason some venues post tickets going on sale very early is to gauge the audience receptiveness to the concert. Booking early allows them to cancel early if neccesary. The FRAZE, or any other venue, has certain booking fees they have to cover, just like any other business. You should think long and hard when disparaging the FRAZE. It is a good local resource…

The biggest concern is that yet another member of Lynyrd Skynyrd will die before Sept. 2. Too risky for me.

Isn’t Skynyrd a tribute band now?

REALLY Shay? And that doesn’t apply to Stan’s comment? (If you don’t have anything nice to say.) I’m with you, null.

For once I agree with Retired Sgt. I’d say the post is spot on. It’s so very easy to sit back and complain when you don’t have the slightest idea what you’re talking about. The Fraze does a great job for the type of venue they are.
