‘Glee’ fan takes a chance with audition

Brianna McGhee has “always been a fan” of the Fox musical series “Glee.” Like hundreds or thousands of others, she has now put herself on the line by answering the online casting call for the show.

The Hanover College sophomore from Oakwood has posted her two-part tryout on the show’s official audition site and welcomes votes of support. Her brief presentation includes some impromptu remarks about her comfort with being “a misfit” and a performance of the song “Don’t Rain on My Parade” from the musical “Funny Girl.”

“I’ve been shy about my singing and finally got up the courage to put myself out there,” said the philosophy major, member of Phi Mu sorority and reporter for her campus newspaper, who has also attended Point Park College in Pittsburgh.

“There are so many people who are trying to get on the show. It’s insane. I hope I have a chance. It would be amazing.”

The “Glee” website says online auditions will continue through April 26.

You can vote for Brianna or someone else on either MySpace or Facebook and you can vote more than once. Go to: http://www.myspace.com/gleeauditions?link=529155257
