Three new concerts added to Fraze lineup
A YouTube sensation, smooth singers and some hippies have been added to the Fraze Pavilion’s summer lineup.
Straight No Chaser, a 10-member a cappella group, will perform on Saturday, June 5 at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are $18, $23 and $28.
The romantic ballads of The Men of Soul are scheduled for Saturday, July 10 at 7:30 p.m.
The performers include Jeffrey Osborne, Peabo Bryson, Freddie Jackson and Howard Hewett. Osborne has had a recent renaissance with his classic, “On the Wings of Love” used seriously on the most recent season of “The Bachelor.” (and mockingly on E! network’s “The Soup.”)
Tickets are $49 and $29.
Hippiefest featuring War, Rare Earth, Jack Bruce, Mitch Ryder and Badfinger is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 6 at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are $45 and $25.
Tickets for all three performances go on sale Saturday, April 10 at 9 a.m.
For more information, go to Fraze.com or call (937) 296-3300.

The “Hippiefest” show sounds good. Bear in mind these bands are without all original members, as is with many 60’s and 70’s bands today, but should still be worthwile. Five acts pushed into a 3.5 hour or so show, breaking down and setting up stage for each act, we might get thirty minutes from each.

Hey Doc, how can you say all the hippifest bands don’t have original members? I’m pretty sure it’s going to be the original Jack Bruce and the original Mitch Ryder.

Straight No Chaser is awesome!!!! I can’t wait to see these guys. This is a wonderful all male group which originated at Indiana University. It reworks Jazz, Hip Hop, American Music Book Standards and Classical music with style, musicality and humor. Saw them 1st on U-tube, then their PBS Christmas Special from NYC. Eventhough I’m over 50, I really don’t want to hear Rick Springfield, Kenny Loggins or most of the other moldy oldies that the Fraze tends to book. I will go to Straight No Chaser! Yeah!

Jack Bruce will play Cream songs. I doubt his “band” will include Eric or Ginger. Two original and key members of Badfinger are dead (both from suicide).
