IDCAST negotiating agreements with Israeli companies

DAYTON — As a result of last month's business/government mission to Israel, IDCAST — the University of Dayton-led Institute for Development and Commercialization of Advanced Sensor Technology — is negotiating two potential technology-licensing agreements with Israeli companies, its director says.
Larrell Walters, IDCAST director, said his organization is exploring bringing to the United States the technology of two separate Israeli companies — one, offering a "highly sensitive" sensing technology with potential for security applications, and the other, with a technology that pulls three-dimensional data from normal 2-D images.
Walters said the contracts may be four to six weeks from completion. But he's optimistic the technologies present opportunities for the Dayton area.
"We feel very positive about both of them having broad applicability here," Walters said.
Officials from Dayton and Montgomery County government embarked on a nine-day trip to Israel starting Sept. 12. Stops included Israeli technology incubators and companies.
