Index | Next »

What is networking?

The Merriam Webster dictionary defines networking as "the exchange of information or services among individuals, groups, or institutions; specifically: the cultivation of productive relationships for employment or business."

Networking offers business owners and professionals an opportunities to promote themselves, their companies or their businesses in their community or their specific business sector. There are many standing business opportunities, both formal and informal. You can join area business clubs, organizations or facilities frequented by clients you want to retain, cultivate or increase business relations with. You can also join networking organizations whose primarily focus is to connect business people. Or you can simply attend networking functions in your community.
