Holland, Mich., site of AMC show's premiere

The Associated Press

HOLLAND, Mich. —

An AMC talent show reality series will premiere Thursday with an episode set in Holland, Mich.

The West Michigan city is one of eight communities across the country where talent will be scouted for the cable channel's "Showville."

The series organizes competitions in each community, featuring local talent. Other settings include Athens, Ohio; Walla Walla, Wash.; and Mount Airy, N.C.

Actor Alec Mapa and choreographer Lisette Bustamante are "Showville's" performance coaches, working with the show's finalists each week to prep them for their performances in front of live, local audiences.

"Showville" hosts open call auditions for singers, dancers, comedy acts, jugglers and more, offering them a chance to be seen on TV and to win $10,000 in prize money.
