Casper mulling local version of "Cops"

CASPER, Wyo. —

Casper is considering a local version of the reality show "Cops."

The Casper Star-Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/14UVaFr ) that the city council was presented with an idea to have a public-access television show following Casper police officers as they do their jobs. Some episodes would follow other city jobs, such as firefighters and garbage collectors.

The show would be produced by an independent production company, Wolf Gang of Wyoming. The company currently produces the weekly television show "Wyoming Portraits."

The council liked the idea for its expanded programming coming to Channel 3. The council is also considering using the channel to show notices of community activities and

The council will vote on a $44,500 contract for a year of programming at an upcoming council meeting.
