NEW LONDON, Conn. —
Vice President Joe Biden is returning to Connecticut this week to speak at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy graduation in New London.
Biden is scheduled to deliver the keynote address at the academy's 132nd commencement on Wednesday.
The vice president was in the state in February to rally support for the gun control proposals of President Barack Obama in the wake of the Newtown school shooting.
The academy has about 1,000 cadets in its four-year program. Students graduate with a bachelor of science degree and an obligation to serve five years in the Coast Guard.
Last year the keynote speaker at the academy's graduation was Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.
