Texas rapper indicted, controlled substance count

CORSICANA, Texas —

Platinum-selling rapper Lil' Flip of Houston has been indicted on a charge of possession of a controlled substance over a 2012 Texas traffic stop.

Navarro County District Attorney R. Lowell Thompson said Friday that the artist whose real name is Wesley Eric Weston allegedly possessed codeine. The traffic stop happened Oct. 18 on Interstate 45.

The Corsicana Daily Sun (http://bit.ly/10Y25KL ) reports a man with Weston, Dematrius Delane Richardson from Arlington, was indicted Thursday on the same count. The charges involves possession of more than 400 grams of codeine.

Thompson had no details on attorneys for Weston and Richardson.

Lil' Flip is known for his singles "Sunshine," ''Game Over," ''I Can Do Dat" and "Rollin on 20's" from the "2 Fast 2 Furious" soundtrack.
